Lifeguard Training West Virginia

Opportunities:

West Virginia University Red Cross Lifeguard Training

West Virginia University provides lifeguard training through the American Red Cross program. Classes are provided by the Physical Activity and Sports Science Department at E. Moore Hall.

They provide classes for CPR and AED certification as well as lifeguard certification training.

West Virginia State Parks Summer Lifeguard

There are 16 State parks that provide opportunities for swimmers and will be needing lifeguards. The state provides great opportunities for summer lifeguard jobs.

Responsibilities:


  • Oversee aquatic locations
  • Prevent accidents
  • Rescue Swimmers in distress
  • Collect admission fees
  • Maintain grounds
  • Enforce rules and regulations

Requirements:

  • Poolside Assignments: Minimum Basic Lifeguarding Certificate
  • Beach assignments: Full lifeguard training (Red Cross, Jeff Ellis Association, boy scouts)
